Hotel ValadierLocation: Roma - Italy

Stylish spaces by Ariostea
The remit: to design new toilets for public use in a prestige hotel in the centre of Rome. The Hotel Valadier, which is located near Piazza del Popolo in Rome, has become the epitome of elegance, design and real hospitality over the years.
The client wanted to create a new space within the building that would reflect the same style. The space available was fragmented and hampered by pre-existing structures, supporting walls and rooms that no one could envisage any alternative use for, resulting in a project that turns shortcomings to its advantage. The rooms have been designed like a box contained within a box; every corner has been designed to make the most of the available space. The features of the project, the choice of materials, lighting and furniture items are all geared towards the same objective: to integrate this space into the life of a leading hotel once again. The elegance of marble is used throughout the hotel interior, and has served to characterise its spaces over the years, hence the choice of Ariostea and its Onici line.
The use of large, polished sheets of marble to accentuate the grandeur of the natural material is not a random choice.
Sheets of onice grigio are used for the floor of the lobby and all the way up the walls, concealing the entrance to the toilets; a unique and exquisite surface amplified by the use of mirrors that accent the colour scheme.
Inside the toilets, a warmer shade of onice Bronze is used, also for the floor and walls, and panelling for the entrance doors.
